Meet Tony Dinh - You’re a Better Calgary (ABC) Party Candidate for Ward 9
My name is Tony Dinh, and I’m proud to be the nominated candidate for Ward 9 with A Better Calgary Party in the upcoming October 2025 municipal election.
I was born at the old General Hospital in Bridgeland and grew up in East Calgary—this city has always been home. As the son of Vietnamese refugees who fled communist oppression, I was raised to value freedom, hard work, and the importance of family. Those values have shaped who I am and why I'm running to represent Ward 9.
Today, my wife Krista and I are raising our five kids in Radisson Heights. As a father, I care deeply about building a safe, welcoming, and affordable community—not just for my children, but for every family in our Ward. I’ve been active as a volunteer because I believe that strong communities start with service and connection.
I attended Calgary’s Catholic schools and went on to study civil engineering and real estate development. That education led me to become an entrepreneur, a builder, and a job creator. I’ve worked to turn vacant lots into affordable housing and believe in responsible, sustainable growth that strengthens our neighborhoods and supports local businesses.
I’m running for City Council because I believe Ward 9 needs leadership that listens, invests wisely, and delivers real value—not wasteful spending, but practical solutions that improve our streets, services, and safety. I’m not here to play politics—I’m here to get things done.
Together, we can build a better Ward 9—one that works for families, respects your tax dollars, and puts common sense back at City Hall.
I’m Tony Dinh, and I’m asking for your support.
