• Who is A Better Calgary Party?

We are a membership-driven organization working with Calgarians to bring the people of this city into the political process.

  • What are your principles?

We will focus on core municipal priorities and essential services.

We will balance fiscal responsibility with compassion.

We will prioritize the interests of Calgarians.

We will be transparent, accountable, and accessible to all.

We will ensure that municipal issues are decided at the most local level possible.

We will empower citizens to actively participate in their democracy.

We will uphold the highest standards of environmental stewardship.

We will defend the rights and freedoms of all Calgarians.

We will support the family as a fundamental unit of society.

We will promote the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit that built Calgary.

  • What are your policies?

The A Better Calgary Party will not be putting forward policies. That will be up to the candidates. The role of the ABC Party is to elect candidates based on the values and principles, as determined by our membership, and for those candidates to develop their own policies.

  • Are you affiliated with any other group, organization or political party?

No, we are not associated with other groups or parties, this includes provincial or federal political parties. We are a stand-alone organization focused only on municipal politics.

As a big-tent member based organization, we are hoping to build and grow to thousands of members who will come from a variety of backgrounds and interests. We feel this broad, welcoming approach will ensure we serve all Calgarians.

  • What do you mean by ‘big-tent,’ what are you doing to ensure diversity is represented?

We feel our values and principles are rooted in common sense, fiscal responsibility, accountability, transparency and a love for this city as a whole and the communities within it.

This will resonate with people from all backgrounds, regardless of religion or ethnicity. People should be judged by their character and not by their race or the religion they subscribe to.

  • Do you already have candidates?

    Our Candidates So Far:

    Ward 2 - John Garden

    Ward 9 - Tony Dinh

A Bypass Vote has been done offering our Members within Wards a one time opportunity to vote in favour of supporting the existing incumbent. Ward 13 - Dan McLean

Nominations are now open for individuals seeking to contest the Party’s council candidate nomination in the following Wards:

Nominations will open for the remaining Wards shortly.
