Meet Keener Hachey – Your A Better Calgary (ABC) Party Candidate for Ward 14
My name is Keener Hachey, and I have lived in Calgary since 1991, and in Ward 14 since 2001. I am married with two children.
I have a solid education from both the University of New Brunswick and SAIT. I have built a career across multiple industries including IT, oil and gas, finance, logistics, transportation, research, and public service. I have held roles as Manager, Group Leader, Senior Systems Analyst, Programmer Analyst, and Software Developer with a number of distinguished Calgary companies. I understand how to solve problems, lead teams, and manage resources responsibly.
I am also a committed community member: I am an active member in my church; I am a member of PGIB (Calgary’s largest small business and taxpayer organization); I serve on the UCP Calgary-Fish Creek Board of Directors, supporting MLA and Minister of Advanced Education Myles McDougall, and have also helped campaign for MLA Myles McDougall, MLA Eric Bouchard (Calgary-Lougheed), and MP Stephanie Kusie (Calgary Midnapore)—whose federal riding includes most communities in Ward 14.
I am running for Ward 14 City Councillor because I have become increasingly frustrated with the lack of common sense at City Hall. This current City Council’s priorities appear to neglect core essential services and infrastructure (roads, water, safety, snow clearing) in favour of ideologies and pet projects ($87 Billion Climate Emergency, $5 Million City Rebranding), and the spending suggests little fiscal restraint as taxes rise and services decline. I believe in making valuable and respectful use of taxpayers’ money.
I care deeply about the future of our community. Ward 14 deserves common-sense leadership grounded in fiscal responsibility, accountability, and transparency. I look forward to earning your support, and to meeting many of you in the weeks ahead.
Regards,
Keener
